Installation Instructions for AVG Antivirus

This is an antivirus program much like Norton Antivirus or McAfee Antivirus. Before you install AVG, you must uninstall any other antivirus programs on your computer and have internet access. YOU DO NOT NEED ANTIVIRUS SOFTWARE TO GET ONTO RESNET, HOWEVER TO REMAIN ON THE NETWORK, YOU MUST HAVE ANTIVIRUS SOFTWARE INSTALLED ON YOUR COMPUTER.

1. Go to http://free.grisoft.com/freeweb.php
2. Click on Get AVG Free at the top of the page.
3. Select Download Free Version.
4. Scroll down to the middle of the page and click avgxxfree_xxxxxx.exe to download the AVG installer. (the x's will be numbers corresponding to the version of the program, i.e. avg71free_394a763.exe)
5. When prompted, save the installer to your desktop.
6. Once the installer has finished downloading, open/run the installer.
7. In the installation process, click Next >.
8. Click Accept.
9. Click Accept.
10. Make sure the Standard installation [recommended] is selected and click Next >.
11. Click Next >.
12. Click Finish.
13. Once AVG has been installed, click Ok.
14. AVG will now launch. Since this is the first time AVG will run, you will be presented with a wizard to complete the configuration process. Follow the wizard instructions and when you are finished, close the AVG window.
